An intriguing, dramatic story with fascinating real-life characters. A glimpse into an interesting, but not well- known period of Boston history. Very well written.
This is an edge-of-your seat crime thriller....except it really happened. I have some connections--the author is a longtime journalist friend, and the bank robbery occurred in my town, Needham, MA. Allen Furst has spent years researching the outlaws, an improbable group of guys who were a little too smart for their own good. This is the first in a series about the Millen-Faber Gang. I can't wait for the next segments.
Don’t be fooled by someone with the same name. It’s a totally different person with very little writing talent.
The book was good but it should be called part 1. It doesnr give you the ending and tellw you there is a second book coming. Not cool.
Let me say that I did not like it enough to buy part two! Although I find the subject interesting, this was not very well written (how can I say that about Allen Furst writing)?
Interesting history of the three criminals, but mostly (embellished) facts, not a lot about the minds and motives driving the trio. Furst is not a great writer but "Jewish Outlaws ..." is entertaining.
